January 11th saw Miss Teen Cayman Islands 2011-2012 Brooke Parchment and another rising star recording and performing artist Black Ken. Miss Teen launched her pageant platform initiative PROJECT CRUSH. An awareness campaign to curve bullying in schools. Black Ken came to talk about his music along with the confidence to be the voice for young people using piognant, though provoking lyrics of the perspective of young Caymanians. At the conclusion of the show BlackKen became the first of several local celebrities to add his support for PROJECT CRUSH.

Season 30, The Season of Confidence



The Season of Confidence opened on January 4, 2012 with special guests, 11 year old musical talent Alex Logvinov from Cayman Music School and rising star recording and performing artist Young Feva. The Flex has been motoring through the season with confident guests each week since.

Child Month's YouthFest & Lovelorn Band

On April 27th the Flex took a road trip to John Gray High School Music Room to talk to the Brian & Barbara Gee of Youth Fest Committee along with sponsors Caroline of LIME and Stephen Bramwell of INTECH. The show also featured the smooth sounds of Lovelorn Band with their rendition of Bruno Mars Grenade along with several original songs to the delight of everyone present and listening on the radio.

Movie Review of "The King's Speech"

On April 20th the Flex had a movie review of multiple award winning Movie of theYear "The King's Speech" It was a fitting way to usher in the dialogue if the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton. The Cayman Islands has been granted a holiday on Friday April 29th to join in with the festivities of this grand occassion.

On April 13th the Flex turned its attention to the impact the Illuminati has has on popular culture and popular artist. We reviewed some of the known Illuminati artist music before their professions of allegiance to the secret society

On April 6th the Flex had a discussion on the Illuminati and its pervasive nature in the world. We spoke about its origins and the impact it has had amoung young people of the 21st century.

Cayman Squash Open & Chalkfest

On March 30 the Flex had guest from the Cedrus Investment Cayman Squash Open along with members of staff from the National Gallery to talk about Chalkfest. Both events were held at Camana Bay

Gender Discussion for Honouring Womens Month

On March 23rd the Flex had a Gender Discussion with Miss Denise Miller, President of the Young Progressives Political Party.

The Happenings in March

So sorry for the long delays in the updates. March was packed with activities of the Agriculture Fair on Ash Wednesday, followed by a slew of dramatical performances and on air discussions

On March16 the Flex hosted the Cayman Prep & High School cast of Disney's Aladdin Jr along with Youthfest runnerup in the Battle of Bands last year "Every Other Minute" provided a live in studio concert. It was fabulous. Here's some photos

Road Trip to John Gray High
























































On March 2nd the Flex took its first roadtrip of the Season of Entertainment. What an awesome trip it was. Our guests were Professor Powell and the Cayman Islands Marching Band. The show featured one song by Kevin Downswell "Change is coming" and all other music breaks featured the Marching Band with small tastes of their repetoire. They covered several popular song like OMG, California Girls, Run this town, Forget You, I got a feeling and then they had us awestricten with their rendition of the Cayman Islands National Song "Beloved Isle Cayman".
The Marching Band will be performing at the 44th Annual Agriculture Show next wednesday. it is the largest one day event inthe Cayman Islands with over 8,000 patrons. All Aggy Show patrons are going to be in for a treat with this band, for sure.

This was the first time YouthFlex has braodcasted from John Gray High School in its history. 90% of YouthFlex crew members attended John Gray but we never broadcasted from their school until March 2, 2011.

Season Of Entertainment Opens with Self Help Songwriting Workshop




On February 23, the Flex opened the Season of Entertainment with a discussion with the CEO of the New Self Help Community Foundation about their upcoming free Songwriting workshop for teens with lead facilitator, recording artist, award winning song writer and talent pomoter E.A. Porter.
Our Determined Youth Of the Week was once again Tiffany Cole for her 2 minutes :30seconds run in the 800m at the George Town Track Meet on Saturday. She shaved 29 seconds off her personal best.
Our Person of the Week who "Perspires toInspire" others was professional champion boxer Charles "the Killer" Whittaker.
We featured music from Local Grammy Award Winner Jason 'JG' Gilbert with "Focus" and the Song of the Year "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum

On February 16th the Flex bid farewell to the Season of Determination with a roll call of the all of the "Determined Youth of the Week" throughout the season. Some were too busy on Wednesday to join us but those that came had a blast. They were Alikie Kandler, Elsie Boone, Allena Rankine, Tiffany Cole, Brittney Rose Bodden, Jevaughnie Ebanks, Jaryed Myles, Julian Jervis and Lorrenzo Williams. We got apologies from Michael Testori, Alex Hennings, Alexandra Franklin and Karlie Lovinggood

Honouring Womens Month Youth Photo & Poetry Contest & Triple C Spotlight Talent Show











On February 9th the Flex had Mrs. Miriam Foster of the Family Resource Centre in studio to promote the upcoming Honouring Womens Month Youth Photo & Poetry Competition. We also took the opportunity to talk about other programmes the FRC offers the Cayman community.

Our Determined Youth of the Week was PSA All-Star Footballer Alex Hennings of St. Ignatius High School

Our Person of the Week who "Perspire to Inspire" others was John Gray High School Business Studies Teacher and mentor Ms. Forbes.

Our Artist of the Week was local recording artist Natasha Kozaily

The Word of the Week was "VICTOR"

We also had Jonathan & Chris Peguero of "Soaring Down" stage a mini concert on air featuring their new sinlgle for Valentines "Red Rose". Their stage debut will be at the Spotlight Talent Show of Triple C School.

Private School Association 7-A-Side Football Tournament











On February 2, 2011 Youth Flex had Jeremy Moore the Head of High School at Cayman International School as our in studio guest to promote the long awaited Interscholastic Football tournament. The format was a 7-A-Side tournament of the private High Schools in the Cayman Islands. There are plans to include Public School Academies in the future. This year the Private Schools will form an All-Star team to challenge Cayman Brac High, John Gray High , The Cayman Islands Further Education Centre and Clifton Hunter High School to home and away matches.
