YouthFlex Honours Female Youth Ambassadors







As part of our continued celebrations ofHonouringWomen's Month in Cayman. YouthFlex hosted several female Youth Ambassadors. Miss Teen Cayman Islands 2009-10 Jamesette Anglin, CARICOM Youth Ambassador Carla Martin, St. Ignatius High School Head Girl , Renee Prendergast, and the 2010 Yentel McGaw Youth Community Excellence Awards Recipient Martina Bodden.






They talked about their role as Ambassadors and then the Flex Crew had a Debate on "If March is Honouring Womens Month, why is there not a month dedicated to honour Men?"

Honouring Women's Month see YouthFlex Queen of the Track Crowned
















On March 10th YouthFlex saw the inagural "YouthFlex Queen of the Track" Race. Andrea "Annie" Watler finish on top of the podium while clocking the fastest lap of the race with 38.14 seconds,even faster than the boys in the race who were in the race to push the girls for fast lap times. Season Host Krista finished behind Annie and Kim placed third. Annie now has bragging right for twelve months as she reigns as "YouthFlex Queen of the track"Our guest on the Flex was Miriam Foster of the Family Resource Centre to talk about Honouring Women's Month activities along with local lady author Catherine Tyson to talk about her new book and the journey she has been on promoting the book "I'm Somebody's Mama" and Mr Alister Foster of Cayman Karting talking about what his plans are for the Go Kart track.

New Season , New Host, Season Opener of Illumination
















On Wednesday March 3rd, YouthFlex opened it new season, the season of Illumination with 16 year old John Gray High School senior Krista Samuels at the helm along with co-host Kim and Takiyah. They were awesome and Krista handle her first remote broadcast masterfully. The topic was "Youth Entertainment" with guests from the Cayman Islands Youth Assembly, Ashvin, Daysha, Allison and Dejon. The remote broadcast was live from Burger King on Walkers Road. It was all good along with the 2 for $5 King Deals at Burger King that featured double Cheeseburgers on Wednesdays. Since March is Honouring Womens Month here in the Cayman Islands the music for the whole month of March will be done by women. The Music list for the season opener included:

Season 25 Finale of Recognition




On February 24th the Flex bid farewell to Andrel and the Season of Recognition. The show featured guests from Silver Thatch Pension's Student Stock trading programme and the 2010 YCLA Recipient Colin Anglin. The season was fairly quiet in terms of callers to the show with only 3 callers all season long until the finale that saw 6 callers to the show.
